Agreement

These Terms of Service and End-User License Agreement ("Terms") govern your use of the ShotScreen application for macOS and the ShotScreen Cloud service (together, "ShotScreen"). By downloading, installing or using ShotScreen, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use ShotScreen.

License to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use ShotScreen on Macs you own or control, for the number of installations permitted by your purchase or subscription. You may not resell, redistribute, rent, reverse-engineer or remove proprietary notices from the app, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits.

Applications acquired from the Mac App Store are also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies in addition to these Terms.

Your content

ShotScreen Cloud lets you upload screenshots and recordings and share them via links. You keep all rights to the content you upload. You grant us only the limited rights needed to store, process and serve that content so the service can work (for example, transferring and displaying the files you choose to share).

You are responsible for the content you upload and share, and you confirm you have the right to share it.

Your use of ShotScreen is also subject to our Privacy Policy at shotscreen.app/privacy, which explains how we collect, process and protect your personal data.

Acceptable use

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You may not upload, share or link to content that is illegal, infringing, sexually exploitative of minors, hateful, harassing, threatening, or that violates the rights or privacy of others, and you may not use ShotScreen to harass or abuse other people.

We reserve the right to remove content and to temporarily suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these rules. In the event of severe or repeated violations — such as illegal or harmful content — we may do so immediately and without prior notice. To report objectionable content or abuse of a shared link, email [email protected]; we act on reports promptly.

Purchases and subscriptions

ShotScreen offers a free version, an optional one-time Pro upgrade, and an optional ShotScreen Cloud Plus subscription. Purchases made through the Mac App Store are billed by Apple and managed in your Apple Account settings; subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time in the App Store. Purchases made through our direct-sales channel are billed by our payment provider under their terms.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have statutory withdrawal rights for digital purchases. For Mac App Store purchases these are handled by Apple; for direct-sales purchases they are handled by our payment provider in line with their refund policy.

Availability and changes

We work to keep ShotScreen and ShotScreen Cloud available and reliable, but we provide them on an "as is" and "as available" basis and may change, suspend or discontinue features. Uploaded shares have an expiry you set and are deleted automatically after it.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShotScreen is provided "as is" and "as available", and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of ShotScreen. While we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under applicable mandatory consumer law, including legal guarantees for digital products.

Termination

You may stop using ShotScreen at any time and delete your account and data as described on our Delete account page. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
